The 43rd annual Vanderslice Kitchens and Homes Tour will take visitors on an urban living tour of lofts and condos in midtown Kansas City. Increased interest in vertical living and proximity to city centers has brought new developments to the area, including 4646 Broadway, Wornall Park and Kirkwood. The Sulgrave, a slightly older development, has been booming with high-end remodeling projects. A total of seven units at four locations will be open for touring Wednesday, May 14, 2008, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour. Proceeds benefit Vanderslice Hall on the Kansas City Art Institute campus. Tour parking will be available street-side.

Homeowners include Gary E. Seaton, Sr., at Kirkwood, and William Brimacombe at The Sulgrave. The other units are fully furnished models. Each tour stop reflects a different design style, from Old World to Prairie style and from traditional to modern.

Tour-goers also can attend exciting cooking demonstrations and see fabulous tablescapes at each of the stops.

A Patrons Event for all benefactors and underwriters of the Vanderslice Kitchens and Homes Tour will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008, preceding the tour. This enjoyable evening event will take place at Central Park, the lush community lawn at Kirkwood. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served under a tent.
